Classic Flavors

Butterfields’ classic flavors are the center of the collection: Peach, Lemon, Key Lime, Honeybell Orange, Cherry, Muscadine, Watermelon, Ginger, and Cinnamon. Each one is distinct. Lemon is clear and bright. Key Lime carries the sharper tang of the rind. Muscadine has the deep, wine-like finish of a Southern grape. Cinnamon begins with warmth and settles into something softer and more complex.

These are not candies made to taste like desserts. They are made to capture the recognizable character of the fruit or spice itself.

The method has remained remarkably consistent since 1924. We cook in small batches, pour at the right moment, fold by hand, shape the candy into Buds, and inspect it before it leaves the factory. All classic flavors are vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and made without artificial colors. Every flavor contains coconut. Peach includes natural and artificial peach flavor as part of its original recipe.
