Mason Jar Gift Set
Before you order
Butterfields Buds are traditional hard candy, not chewy candy. They are made to dissolve slowly, with fruit- and spice-forward flavors that are balanced rather than made to taste like dessert. Because each batch is handmade, the color, shape, and size may naturally vary.

Product Details
Butterfields Buds are old-fashioned hard candy with a glasslike look and feel. They are meant to dissolve slowly; we do not recommend biting into them. The flavor is fruit- or spice-forward and balanced rather than made to taste like a dessert or an intensely flavored gummy candy.
Every batch is made by hand, and our colors come from fruit and vegetable sources. Small differences in color, shape, size, and sugar coating are normal and are not product defects.
All Butterfields candies contain coconut, a tree-nut allergen. Most flavors use natural flavor. Peach Buds contain both natural and artificial peach flavor as part of the longstanding recipe.

Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1924
For decades, Butterfields Candy moved—from Winston-Salem to Rocky Mount, Rocky Mount to Nashville—carried forward by families who believed the candy was worth keeping. Then in 2009, it went dark. The kettles went cold. The recipes sat waiting. And someone who spent 15 years carrying the memory of a candy that comforted her took a leap of faith and brought it back to life.
Dena Manning is the steward of that story.

Butterfields is old-fashioned hard candy, not a chewy or gummy candy. Each piece is meant to dissolve slowly. Our flavors are fruit- or spice-forward and balanced rather than made to taste like a dessert. Because every batch is made by hand, the pieces will not have the perfectly uniform size, color, or finish of mass-produced candy.
Yes. Butterfields candies are vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free.
Yes. All Butterfields candies contain coconut, which is classified as a tree nut. Please review the ingredient and allergen information on the individual product page before ordering.
No. Our colors come from fruit and vegetable sources, including red carrot, turmeric, grapes, and spirulina, depending on the flavor.
Most Butterfields flavors use natural flavor. Our Peach Buds contain both natural and artificial peach flavor. This is part of the longstanding recipe I chose to preserve. Mixed assortments that include Peach Buds also contain that flavoring.
Yes. Sugar Free Peach Buds are available in an 8-ounce cello bag and a mason jar. They contain isomalt rather than sugar. Please see the product page for current availability and complete ingredients.
Coconut is part of the traditional recipe and is used during the hand-folding process to keep the candy from sticking. Small pieces also remain in the finished candy. It is not a strong coconut flavor, but coconut is a tree nut and must be treated as an allergen.
We make the candy by hand in small batches. Natural color sources and the light sugar coating can also affect how bright each piece looks. Small variations in color, shape, and size are normal.
Humidity is the enemy of hard candy. Keep Butterfields in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from heat and moisture.
No. Some flavors have a bright or tart finish, but we do not currently make sour candy.
Package arrived smashed. However, due to your excellent packing, all six jars were completely undamaged. Thank you. Took pictures of the box before opening it because of the amount of exterior damage.
Love the gift jars. Plenty of goodness to keep me happy and remind me of the old days. Where have they gone? Thank you for restoring missing qualities in life and making tough times just better.
Every flavor that I bought is scrumptious!!! I found 8 very cute Mason Jars. My grandkiddos and I had fun mixing some of the flavors. Of course the lemon and lime match was perfect!!! Thanks for making such delicious goodies!

I recently purchased the Sampler and I am so amazed of how delicious these candies taste. I have tried the 🍑, grape 🍇 and watermelon 🍉 so far and have already decided definitely better than Lifesavers and I will be ordering again.
So yummy!! My favorite is the mango!!
I give these away as gifts. Just one jar though and a extra bag of candy. I asked for business cards and they sent them along so my plans can order if they would like.
Great candy enjoyed all the flavors
Wonderful taste and texture!
The gift was never received by the intended recipient. Emailed Butterfields multiple times and never received the courtesy of a response.
Great gift idea, my friends loved them.

Bought these for my daughter and they are so cute. She loves them. And the taste of the candy can't be beat.
Lovely candy with a fresh picked flavor.
Love these candies
We absolutely love the flavors we ordered! And when these are gone,we will most definitely order again.
All so flavorful. Looking forward to trying the other flavors!!
Will buy again for myself and also for gifts.
Flavor is spot on and not cloyingly sweet.
I included them in Christmas gift bags. They were a big hit.
Perfect little, hard candies.
They taste delicious with the variety of flavors and handy little pouches and jars.
They're all very good.
What a wonderful gift. If you are ordering for Christmas, order one extra because I had one jar broken, but, when mailing glass, things happen. I wish I would have order one extra jar. If none of the jars are broken, I get to have a gift for me,. Great Company.
This is a great gift set! I may have to get one for myself so I can sample the flavors!
I love the taste of all of the flavors and the packaging in the cute little jars.
Product is great the placement of the labels has a lot to be desired. The jar is a typical Mason jar so it has measurements on it. The label is over the measurements it should be on the smooth side of the jar so you can leave it on. I took mine off. Just left mine on the lids. I'd suggest just buying the other products. They're wonderful
Yummy and true flavors each flavor I have gotten is spot on!
Out of curiousity I ordered these for myself after seeing ads on Facebook so many times it was driving me crazy. I was not disappointed! These are so good!!
These are a great gift idea they were very tasty!
So far I’ve just tasted the cherry and lemon! They are the BEST. I’ve ever tasted. Good job!!
Delicious and pretty jars
